The primary image for the Artist is of the self. Rembrandt revolutionized the self-portrait
because he introduced the depiction of inwardness.
(He also excelled in the depiction of
outwardness--dude's waistline dramatically expanded over time.)
These days any yonker
can have a gazillion portraits, thanks to flash photography, and this includes our much-
loved Gil Baker, the Once and Future True Stoned, Bloated Genius. Here is a collection of
